My brain hurts right now trying to figure out what just happened over the last 84 min (Tivo Time). Well, if you’re keeping up with my “World of Tivo” posts then you read my last one where I predicted all that would happen. I think I’m batting 1.000 because it seems to me Henry IS the Man, and the 4 “Good” guys did get captured. Oh, and I said someone would die. Now we’re not for sure the Hatch truly blew up but even if they didn’t die Sawyer put a bullet into that one guy in the forrest.
So I’m just going to start talking and none of it might make sense but here goes. I think Miss Widmore never got married. The Polar Bear Club guys referred to her as Miss Widmore and not Mrs New Guy She Married Over Desmond. I’d also like to predict that MR. Widmore is tied into the Hanso Foundation. Maybe he funds it or owns it…either way he’s connected. Oh, and remember the REAL Henry Gales hot air balloon? You think that was a search party looking for Desmond? Probably not but I’m still wondering about that guy.
Any one curious as to what the first incident was? Anyone think its what brought the “Others” to the island? I’m not talking about they crashed as well. But maybe they’re all scientists who were brought to the island to deal with the “Incident”. Why do I have this funny feeling this latest Magnetic Surge will be bringing a 3rd group to the island in Season 3.
Want to hear another crazy thought I have? What if the island is not in the middle of the South Pacific like everyone thinks. What if its in the middle of Antarctica? If I were the writers this is how I would reveal that: We don’t see Walt and Michael until the end of Season 3 and we see the weather all of a sudden change and BOOM! they’re hitting ice. Maybe thats where the polar bear came from. Some thing is super weird about that island.
So the tents and huts were obviously fake. I heard somewhere there is another hatch that is under water or has water. Its where the shark with the Dharma symbol came from. (Episode where Sawyer/Jin/Michael are in the water and the shark swims by).
How about the pile of journals? That made me laugh. We’d like you to write down every last detail. Its very important. The world’s safety depends on it. And then we see its just piling up like dirty clothes when the wife is out of town.
Did everybody remember where Desmond’s Yellow Suited buddy came from? He was in the gulf war serving with Kate’s dad and was the guy who gave Syiad that money on the side of the road. And how in the flippin world does Libby play into all this. She had a husband named David? She just gives this guy a boat? Something doesn’t smell right there.
How about the big APE foot! 4 toes, just a foot, out there on the coast. I can’t tell if the Lost writers were just drunk when they wrote that one or what.
Hurley gets let go…doesn’t make sense. Jack and Kate give each other this look at the end. Charlie comes out and for some reason is not bothered by the blast. Did I mention the big APE foot? In the World of Tivo you never watch commericals but as I fast fwd through I caught a glimpse of the Hanso Foundation. So in case you were looking for a job it looks like they are hiring. I did already say this show blows my mind right? And it is all fake right?
Wishing September was already here…

Dont’t forget that when that weird purple sky thing happened where everyone grabbed their ears, right before that, there was this “voice” saying, “Eliiiizabeeeeth…” - which we now know is Libby’s real name and the name of her husband David’s boat - the one that Desmond used!!! Crazy!!!
I like the theory that the Others are scientists.
And what’s this about the laundry piling up when your wife is out of town?

OH and how about the huge parrot/hawk thing that swooped down and CLEARLY said “Hurley!” and then HE was the one who was let go at the end???? Coincidence? I think not.
Comment by Christine — May 25, 2006 @ 9:21 am
How did I miss the voice! This is insane. Andrea here in the office has a great question but I won’t put it up…I’ll let her ask
Any other thoughts or questions out there? Lets get some talk going guys! There is so much to discuss…

My question probably doesn’t bear that much weight, but as we all know, when you’re watching LOST, you’re pretty much looking for anything to tip you off to something new. So, here we go. WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF DESMOND’S CHARLES DICKENS BOOK, OUR MUTUAL FRIEND? How will this tie in? Has anyone read this book?
Comment by Andrea — May 25, 2006 @ 10:46 am
Hm, I thought about the book thing - the title is interesting since so many pepole have “mutual” friends, or know the same people…you know, how the lives intersect….

Another tid bit: Mr. Widmore is a central character in the published manuscript “Bad Twin.”

I couldn’t put a finger on where I recognized the other guy from the hatch - good call on the Iraq episode.
You guys have covered a lot of my questions from the episode. So do you all think Michael was justified in his actions? Would you kill Jack knowing he led you into the trap? What happened to Sayid inside the guarded doors? Will he be the one who rescues Jack and company? What happens now that the computer is busted? OR did the key thing actually work and fix the magnetic field? How could Henry not be happy about the “terms of his release” - what an @$$. He sure seemed weirdly intimidating. No way that hot chick and the hobbit would hook up - even if she’s damaged goods (I wonder how many women read this blog and will be infuriated by that comment…almost as interesting to me as how everyone keeps a reasonably well groomed appearance on the show.) So Elizabeth went from married, to widowed, to giving away her boat, to an insane asylum, to Australia, to Hurley? Hmmm- wonder why she was in Australia to begin with. Is mr. echo dead?
Comment by Dan — May 25, 2006 @ 2:44 pm
What if Libby was never REALLY in the insane asylum with Hurley, but she was just another figment of his imagination like that other guy Dave? Maybe he just imagined she was there with him?
OR maybe that’s how she bounced back enough to be “normal” on the island….she didnt’ really have mental problems to begin with; she just developed them after her husband died…so she was in the insane asylum, but then went back to normal once they crashed on the island.
Knowing there’s an electromagnetic force could explain some of the weird “cures” like Locke’s legs, etc….who knows what that kind of stuff can do to your body???
Comment by Christine — May 25, 2006 @ 2:57 pm
Dan, good point. I didn’t think about it but the fail safe didn’t blow them up…it did something else. Charlie sure was really weird when he got back. Smiling and acting like nothing happened. Maybe he saw something.
Fenry (Fake Henry) is super creepy to me. Just scary.
“No way the hot chick and the hobbit hook up…” Now thats funny!
Christine makes a comment that they say Elizabeth when the explosion happens…its actually when they are by the pile of journals before they get darted.
What if at the end when the Portuguese Guys say “We found it.” They aren’t referring to Desomond at all. We just assume Miss Widmore is looking for him. Maybe she’s not.
Libby seems like she plays a big role.
Comment by SB — May 25, 2006 @ 3:04 pm
That’s TRUE, becuase maybe they would have said “we found HIM”????

you guys are crazy! lost crazy. we just watched the season finale last night. click on this link to see what we think about it: http://bigbluesofa.com/2006/05/29/just-keep-pushing-the-button/
oh, and bro - i like your use of my fake abbreviation (adding an f to the word) “fenry” - haha!
Comment by Michelle — May 30, 2006 @ 1:56 am
Nobody go to the above link and read BIGBLUESOFA. I can sum it up right here: “I am upset I don’t have more answers and will scream about how unfair it is but WILL continue to watch as soon as Season 3 rolls around and will wait in eager anticpation.”
BBS makes a comment about the Lost writers not knowing where this is going. (Chuckle) oh ye of little faith in JJ Abrams. As a matter of fact they DO know where its all going. JJ comes before the writers and says…here is exactly where I want things to go. My overall vision. Now make it work! And the writers go crazy with it.
There will be a crew going through Season 1 again and my dear friend Andrea pointed out yesterday some things that will already blow your mind. I will be posting about it so Lost readers stay tuned.
